Coychurch Community Field

The initial creation and planting of the Local Place for Nature in the Community Field has been completed. The 363m all-weather footpath is complete and has been well used by dog walkers, children with their new Christmas bicycles, scooters and remote control vehicles.

Some of the seeding will be done in the spring as the building phase of the project was finishing too late to scatter the seeds on the Park View side of the field. Many wildflower plug plants have been planted and meadow turf laid around seating areas. The attenuation ponds have been lined with turf containing water-loving wildflowers. We are hoping for a good spring display, subject to weather conditions.

There are a number of benches and some picnic tables set around the main path and a "forest trail" through the wildflower areas.

The path surrounds a large grassed area suitable for all sorts of activities, particularly in the summer. We hope residents will make use of it and enjoy some open-air time with friends and families.
