The Community Council was formed in 1974 when the old Parish Councils became Community Councils in Wales.
Since the Community Council was first formed in 1974 there have been 28 Chairman, many who have served as Chairman several times.
Cllr. William Philpin served on both Councils as Chairman with a total of 49 years service between 1930-1979.
Elections for the Community Council are held every five years on the first Thursday in May.
The Community Council Annual Meeting is held in May each year and it is at this meeting that the members elect the Chairman and Vice Chairman for the coming year.
