Grass Cutting and weeds

You will be aware of the the issues we have had with grass cutting in the village and the play park this summer. With the loss of our long standing contractor we are left with the need to find a contractor who will serve the village to the same high standard. We have tried one contractor who did very well but eventually decided that the work was too much for the equipment that he had. So, we are currently in the process of obtaining quotes and deciding who to try out next. 

We do understand the frustration this may cause to residents but we ask that you be patient and we will put a contract in place as soon as possible.  

Regarding the weeds in the street gutters and paving. This is the responsibility of BCBC and is being raised with them regularly but we also recognise that the weather patterns are changing so previous systems for weed control may not be as effective as before.

We can all "do our bit" by pulling up the weeds along the outside of our front boundary walls/fences. For those who already do this, thank you. If you haven't done this in the past we ask that you consider this contribution to tidying up the village.
